The New Faces Of Bollywood

Over the last few years, we saw many promising faces entering the film industry. Looks like it’s time for the younger brigade of Bollywood to slowly take over! And why not? With the younger generation showing promising talent, confidence and vigour, it will not be too long before they rule the tinsel town! Here’s our pick of the top 6 new faces of bollywood under spotlight!

Parineeti Chopra

If there was one actress who took the industry by storm with her freshness, acting skills and simplicity in 2011, it had to be Priyanka Chopra’s cousin sister Parineeti Chopra. Parineeti, who debuted with ladies vs ricky bahl and ishaqzaade was thoroughly appreciated for her performance in both films. In fact, she stood out more than the leading heroine, Anushka Sharma, in her debut film. Parineeti is confident, fierce and has an amazing comic timing. Although it’s been a while since her last release, Parineeti is all set for her new releases “Hasee to Phasee” opposite Siddharth Malhotra and Kill Dil with Ranveer Singh. Watch out for her!

Varun Dhawan

To be honest, out of all the actors who debuted with “Student of The Year” (including all the second leads), Varun Dhawan was the only one who displayed the supreme confidence needed to be a “star”.  He was charming and could tackle both comical and vulnerable scenes with ease.  A superlative dancer and very photogenic – he is definitely a complete package!  Up next, Varun will be seen in a film called “Main Tera Hero” produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and directed by his father, David Dhawan.

Aditya Roy Kapoor

Aditya Roy Kapoor, who charmed one and all with his intense performances in Aashiqui 2 is definitely one actor to look out for in the coming years. Aditya who started off his career as a VJ for Channel V and then debuted with “London Dreams” went onto act for films like “Action Replayy” and “Guzaarish”.  But Aashiqui is his official launchpad as he not only displayed a superior performance but also made his mark as a big-screen solo actor. His upcoming film is Dharma Productions’ “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani“, set for a May 31 screening. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the romantic drama also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Alia Bhatt

Little Miss Kareena Kapoor impressed all of us with her “Shanaya” act in Karan Johar’s Student of The Year. Why we compared her to Bebo is simply because Alia reminded us of so much of Kareena with her ‘drama queen’ vibe and animated expressions! Take a look at “Bole Chudiya” below and then “Radha on the dance floor” above and you will figure out why! Alia, who is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, sister of actor-turned-director Pooja Bhatt and cousin of actor Emraan Hashmi is definitely going to be the heroine replacing Kareena’s absence (should there be any) in years to come. Whether she can match up to Bebo’s acting prowess is another debate altogether. Alia has two releases coming up –“Two states” and “Highway”.

Shraddha Kapoor

In the last few days, the petite and pretty Shraddha Kapoor‘s life has undergone a complete transformation. It’s known as the before-and-after affect. And it happens to every aspirant who is blessed with that career-changing hit like Aashiqui 2. People seem to have loved the film, loved Shraddha and her character, probably even more than the original female protaganist of Ashiqui. Shraddha is the daughter of Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kolhapure. Her aunt is Padmini Kolhapure, former actress and singer. Shraddha definitely comes across as refreshing and definitely displays oodles of talent. Shraddha’s upcoming films include Puneet Malhotra’s Gori Tere Pyar Mein with Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Sushant Rajput

TV actor Sushant became a household name after appearing in the serial Pavitra Rishta and is finally living his Bollywood dream with Kai Po Che, based on Chetan Bhagat’s famous novel – The 3 Mistakes of My Life. Sushant gave an outstanding performance in his debut flick and was appreciated thoroughly by critics and audience. Definitely an actor to watch out for! As of now, Sushant Singh Rajput has a three-film deal with Aditya Chopra’s production house and has also signed a second film with the producers of Kai Po Che.  He is currently working on Maneesh Sharma’s next with Parineeti Chopra, which is scheduled to release later this year. After he completes his work on this film, he will start shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s P.K, also starring Aamir Khan. Looks like he is in a happy space!
